Soccer Club has
appointed Yahya Jammeh as thier head soccer coach
with Adi Kah as the assistant coach. This is a
very interesting coaching team because in the
summer they tend to be in different sidelines
coaching two different teams.
Yahya coaches the Bachelors and Adi coaches the
married men or the veterans as kebba would like
to call them. Last year in our annual Picnic and
Soccer Tourney Yahya and his team claimed the
first Ousman Jah Memorial trophy by luckly beating
Adi and his team in the finals which ended in
penalty kicks.
When the two coaches
come together with the best players from their
respective teams they ususally put together a
winning side. The success they have last year
have little to do with the talented players they
have at their disposal but their ability to motivate
and lead.
They have two championships
under their belts in less than a year coaching
the team, namely the African Soccer championships
sponsored by the United African Community Organization
every year and the Amie Njie Memorial soccer tournament
in Chicago.
In the windy city they lead the team to the championship
where they beat wisconsin in the finals to retire
the trophy which DUSC won twice in the last 4
years. The next challenge is to take the team
to Atlanta one more time to see if we can win
the Dodou Mbye memorial Soccer Tourney.
