The Gambian Association
sent a three person delegation to The Gambian for a week to
make a formal presentation of the Medical supplies to the Government.
Members of the delegation were the President of the Association,
Mr. Modou Jatta, Mr. Mutarr Jallow, and the Director of international
programs, World Medical Relief, Dr. George Samson.
During their stay they visited
hospitals including the Buyam health center where they met
the CEO, Mr. Kebba Badjie who gave a tour of the hospital.
We are thanking Mr. Badjie for all his support in providing
all the documentation requested during the process.
The presentation took place
at the Vice President's office where they had a press conference
with Her Excellency the Vice President, Isatou Njie Saidy and
the SOS for Health, Mr. Tamsir Mbowe.
The Vice president and the SOS
for Health on behalf of the Gambian people expressed their sincere
gratitude to all in Michigan and the World Medical Relief for
our generous donation.
Dr. Samson also expressed how
he feels once he arrive in The Gambia. Now he knows exactly
how important it is to help improve the health system in The
Gambia. He reaffirms his committment to this cause which is
as noble as any he ever supported.
